Enyart Presents Waltonville With $1.9M Grant

U.S. Congressman Bill Enyart (IL-12) was joined by Cary Minnis of Great Egypt Regional Planning & Development Commission and Waltonville Village Mayor Randy Dees to present a grant on behalf of the Economic Development Administration for $1.9 million.

"This grant is crucial to developing the water, road, and sewer infrastructure needed in the future," said Enyart. "We're going to keep fighting for the proposed ethanol plant, and we hope to have good news on that front soon. The infrastructure upgrades are expected to bring 120 jobs and leverage $500 million in private investments."

"I want to personally thank Congressman Enyart and his staff for working to secure this grant," said Dees. "With this grant, and funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation, secures that the new concrete road, water and sewer improvements on Knob Street to be used for truck traffic to the new ethanol plant."

The grant is administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.
